About your host, Angela.

Angela Middleton your host at St Bathans Jail and Constables Cottage

Angela is based in nearby Dunedin and loves Central Otago and all that the St Bathans area has to offer. Even though she has been coming to St Bathans for years, she is still amazed at the beautiful landscape and history this tiny town has to offer. She likes that St Bathans is a little off the beaten track, even though it may mean that sometimes the famous Vulcan is booked out and so advises guests to bring a few provisions or book in advance in the busy period.

Angela thinks St Bathans truly has something unique to offer visitors, throughout the seasons, with its picturesque views and a rich mining history. The St Bathans Jail and Police Camp are conveniently located just a few minutes from the popular photo spot; the Blue Lake, and this is somewhere Angela always likes to stop. On her list is also the Vulcan, just two minutes’ walk away, for a coffee and a muffin.

Angela has travelled a lot herself and loves having people from all around the world share in her little patch of paradise. Winter is her favourite season at the Constables Cottage, sitting around the fireplace or walking outside in the crisp air. She also loves that feeling when you open the front door in Winter to a frozen wonderland. A keen gardener, the gardens around the cottage in spring are a real celebration of the season. Angela loves making sure guests get the best stay they can. She is always happy to help and hopes you find all the information on the website, with some history of the area and things to do, helpful.
